Request to financial institutions to ensure the provision of financial support, etc. to business enterprises facing liquidity constraints due to the prolonged impacts of COVID-19 in accordance with their respective business conditions <Summary> Against the backdrop of the prolonged impacts of COVID-19, including the recent re-extension of the declaration of a state of emergency, the FSA has requested financial institutions to fully commit to providing an attentive and swift response to the needs of business enterprises facing liquidity constraints due to the prolonged impacts of COVID-19, particularly in providing financial support, etc. In so doing, the FSA requests financial institutions to take a proactive approach in understanding the business conditions of the respective business enterprises, while fully taking into account the further impacts on businesses due to requests for self-quarantine (to refrain from going outside), requests for business suspensions, requests to shorten working hours, and restrictions on holding events. Publication of "Insurance Business Monitoring Report 2021" (provisional English title) <Summary> The FSA published "Insurance Business Monitoring Report 2021" (provisional English title). The Monitoring Report provides a summary of the status and issues recognized through the monitoring of the previous program year (2020) in regard to various challenges surrounding insurance companies and small amount and short term insurance companies, with particular focus on the key topics that the FSA values. The monitoring report also includes the FSA’s monitoring policy for insurance companies and small amount and short term insurance companies for the program year 2021, based on the findings from previous year’s monitoring. By continuing these initiatives, the FSA aims to execute insurance administration with enhanced transparency and further emphasis on the PDCA cycle.
