| February 8, 2024 | Publication of the draft amendments to the FSA's regulatory notices concerning the "designated IFRSs" for public consultation <Summary>
The FSA proposed the draft amendments to the regulatory notices concerning the "designated IFRSs" stipulated in the "Regulation for Terminology, Forms and Preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements" and the "Regulation for Terminology, Forms and Preparation of Financial Statements" (hereinafter collectively referred to as "the proposal") for public consultation.
The proposal is mainly intended to:
1. change the designation of business accounting standards generally accepted as fair and appropriate
2. renew the designation of designated international accounting standards, and
3. provide necessary amendments in response to the amendments to the Regulation on Financial Statements.
Public comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. [JST], March 11, 2024.

The proposal is intended to provide consequential amendments to the said Regulation for Enforcement in response to the enforcement of the "Act Partially Amending the Health Insurance Act to Establish a Sustainable Social Security System that is Applicable to All Generations" (provisional English law title). | February 5, 2024 | Initiators' meeting of Japan Financial Literacy and Education Corporation <Summary>
The FSA announced that the Central Council for Financial Services Information, the Japanese Bankers Association, and the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA) jointly held on February 5, 2024, the initiators' meeting* of Japan Financial Literacy and Education Corporation (J-FLEC), an authorized corporation to be established under the "Act on Provision of Financial Services and the Development of the Accessible Environment Thereto" (provisional English law title), which was amended in November 2023.
* The initiators' meeting consisted of the representatives (including Chairpersons) of the said council and associations as well as the responsible officials of the FSA, who will jointly apply to the Prime Minister for approval of the establishment of J-FLEC.
