“The GLOPAC Fellowship Program is an enticing learning opportunity that helped hone my personal and interpersonal skills.”
What was your experience like at GLOPAC?
I am grateful to be granted this unique opportunity and also to be the very first representative of my country (Morocco). GLOPAC Fellowship Program is an exciting program for me to learn and reflect on NextGen financial regulation. I thrive in multicultural settings and enjoyed getting to meet like-minded regulators from different walks of life.
What is the most important thing you learned?
I have come to realize how financial regulators from all over the world speak the same language, have similar ambitions, face the same issues, and have a shared understanding of leverage interventions points. Hence, financial regulatory international cooperation is key for developing harmonized standards such as the ones for cross-border regulation of digital innovation. Financial regulators need to work closely with their counterparts around the world.
How are you applying what you learned?
I found myself very often coming back to Japanese practices and regulatory framework as a point of reference in my daily work as well as when developing new projects.
What would you like to tell people who are considering applying?
I highly recommend this eye-opening and inspiring learning experience and encourage all participants to make the most of it.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The GLOPAC Fellowship Program is an enticing learning opportunity that helped hone my personal and interpersonal skills. Thus, I would love to be involved, in the future, in any GLOPAC related activities.

“This Program provides you a lot of useful knowledge, information and good practices in insurance market.”
What was your experience like at GLOPAC?
The GLOPAC Fellowship Program is a great opportunity to learn about Japanese insurance market. The topics are relevant as per my areas of interest and comprehensive in nature. All lectures that have been carried out were carefully prepared, both by the presenter and the secretariat of the GLOPAC and shared their invaluable knowledge and experiences.
What is the most important thing you learned?
All topics were very important, valuable, useful and informative to me and my organization. The most important thing that I learned from this Program as a regulator is to understand challenges that other countries’ regulatory authorities already faced in the global insurance market.
How are you applying what you learned?
I am working for the Insurance Policy Division so I will apply my learning in my work and I will also share the learning and experiences with my co-workers. Also I would like to contribute to policy, regulation and laws making process.
