What’s NewGLOPAC Newsletter Vol. 17 Just Published

The GLOPAC 18th Fellowship Program for securities started in February 2021 and was completed in June. The Program was divided into two phases, and our original plan was to conduct phase 1 online and phase 2 by inviting the fellows to Japan for the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 situation was not good enough to conduct a face-to-face program, but ten fellows from Asia and Africa proactively participated in the online program, despite the time difference. Meeting online a few days a week for four months enabled the creation of a securities regulators network with JFSA officials and also among fellows. We, of course, talked about the capital market, securities regulations and the Covid-19 situation in each country as well as how they supervised and inspected securities firms amid the pandemic. Though the program itself was completed, a physical, short-term follow up program will be arranged and conducted once it becomes safe to invite all fellows to Japan. At the GLOPAC secretariat we are excited to see the fellows face-to-face here in Japan!
