Alumni Forums
The Alumni Forums are arranged by GLOPAC staff as get-togethers for former Visiting Fellows in their home countries or regions. The forums are open to all former participants and are often scheduled in coordination with other events. They are intended to be a place for former Visiting Fellows to connect and strengthen their relationships with each other and with GLOPAC.

Overview
Since 2017, GLOPAC has held forums for alumni to gather and meet other participants in the GLOPAC Fellowship Program. These gatherings can be held on both the national and regional level and are often held in coordination with other events in the host country. In 2019 the first alumni forum in Japan was held in Tokyo in collaboration with the Program on International Financial Systems (PIFS). Although Covid-19 has impacted GLOPAC’s ability to host events in person, the center is preparing to host events after the pandemic has ended.

Who Can Join?
Alumni Forums are open to all previous participants in the GLOPAC Fellowship Program. Even if you are not working in the country in which the event is held, you may still join the forum. The GLOPAC Secretariat will email all former Visiting Fellows with information about upcoming Alumni Forums. Depending on the circumstances, GLOPAC may also invite members of the Japanese diplomatic staff and other FSA officials to forums held outside Japan.

What to Expect
The GLOPAC alumni forums are an opportunity for former Visiting Fellows to share their activities since the Program with other alumni and GLOPAC Secretariat. Usually based around a number of presentations and a dinner, the forums are often held in conjunction with other events like an international conference or diplomatic visit. However, the forums are not meant to be a strictly formal affair, as it is a good opportunity for alumni to reconnect with friends and colleagues from their time at FSA.
