February to June 2022
“I would tell them that it is a great opportunity, since it will help them grow both personally and professionally.”
What was your experience like at GLOPAC?
First of all, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity of being part of this amazing group of people and having the chance to take this course.
It was a fantastic experience and I think that the most important aspect is the fact that we can share valuable information and good practices with the regulators around the world and especially the Japanese Market.
Another important aspect I would like to highlight is having the opportunity to get to know people that perform the same tasks and have the same responsibilities as me. This gives me the possibility of discussing matters related to our field in the future.
Overall, it was a gratifying experience as regards knowledge, content, delivery, the effort of the people that worked to create this course and their willingness to help us with each and every question that we had throughout the extent of the course.
What is the most important thing you learned?
In general terms, all the information provided by the lecturers is useful and it helps us broaden our vision and improve both directly and indirectly our roles and responsibilities.
I had an overall idea of most of the topics that were discussed during the lectures. However, there were three concepts that impressed me the most since I realized that it is possible to implement those good standards in a concrete situation and reality. These three concepts are the risk assessment approach, the detail of the protection of the investors’ regulation, and the access to the inspection guidelines.
I believe that the most useful tool is the possibility of accessing all the regulations used in Japan as a benchmark and as a permanent source of information for future questions and doubts.
How are you applying what you learned?
At the local level, I believe that in order to implement a reform, it is necessary to perform an integral reform of the current framework. It is necessary to establish a concrete aim/goal as regards risk assessment approach and the detail of the protection of the investors’ regulation to implement them in a successful manner.
In order to achieve this, I will make use of the tools that were provided in the course. One specific tool that I find extremely useful is the fact that feedback is needed between the supervision areas and the verification area in order to achieve a more efficient and effective process of the selection of market participants, taking into consideration the lack of resources in our area.
What would you like to tell people who are considering applying?
I would tell them that it is a great opportunity, since it will help them grow both personally and professionally. At the personal level, it helped improve English as a second language, given that it is a tool that helps you to understand the different regulations at the international level. At the professional level, it allows you to seek new goals to improve at every level and to challenge yourself to be a better professional.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would like to thank all the people behind GLOPAC and the presenters who invested a lot of time and preparation to present an excellent course. I would also like to thank my partners for creating an excellent learning environment.

“I will definitely spread the ideas to maximize the benefit and try to apply what I have learned.”
What was your experience like at GLOPAC?
Great experience! The content is well organized and made some complex topics really interesting and easier to follow. It is a bit difficult for me to rate –due to the virtual situation- but the overall experience was fruitful and worth the time spent and effort exerted.
What is the most important thing you learned?
The whole course is fruitful but the most important thing was recognizing securities markets and market regulations in Japan, roles of market surveillance division and investigation of market misconduct.
How are you applying what you learned?
I will definitely spread the ideas to maximize the benefit and try to apply what I have learned - taken into consideration the differences between the circumstances here and there. May be not so much to be done right away, but I learned and now I understand and willing to take a further step ahead into practice at my workplace.

Highly recommended!
Go for it and do not hesitate; the course, the instructors and the material are comprehensive, insightful and very informative.
